Principal Objective:

Responsible for prompt and accurate technical service support to the dealer network for all forklift models. Other essential duties and responsibilities will include:

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Preserves an environment with customers, both internal and external that foster a high level of commitment to constant improvement in product quality and support.
  • Responds to all UCA dealer technical inquiries concerning appropriate diagnostic procedures, application issues, spare parts, repair, servicing and general maintenance via inbound calls, emails and voicemails.
  • Ensures all relevant issue case databases are maintained and up to date.
  • Ensures all technical support material is up to date including Service, Part Manuals and Technical Bulletin Manuals.
  • May make field visits, as appropriate, to investigate product service problems and issues.
  • Provides technical assistance for the Warranty Department, including the proper interpretation of pending warranty claims.
  • Supports Parts Department by providing technical assistance concerning the proper application and identification of repair/replacement parts; occasionally procures parts or component assemblies from complete products to assist in the fulfillment of emergency orders.
  • Provides assistance to regional management staff concerning technical issues and appropriate follow up on problems as necessary.
  • Provides assistance to Quality Engineering staff in performing component testing and evaluations in support of corrections and countermeasures.
  • Provides Manager with regular status reports of all outstanding and ongoing service issues for required follow up actions and notifies, as appropriate, of critical items.
  • Continually works to maintain the highest level knowledge of technical expertise by attending UCA technical courses and review of bulletins and other relevant industry material.
  • Completes all field visit reports and expense reports in a timely and accurate manner
  • Always acts in a professional and courteous manner, responding to all requests by co-workers and dealers in a timely and quality manner. Demonstrates a positive working relationship with co-workers and dealers and works to promote a teamwork environment.

 Job Requirements:

  • Minimum of three years customer service experience handling technical inquiries in the forklift or related industry including automotive or heavy industrial equipment manufacturing.  
  • Requires basic mechanical and/or electrical background.
  • Mechanical aptitude and understands how internal combustion engines, transmissions and final drive assemblies work.
  • Understands and comprehends wiring and hydraulic schematics.
  • Must possess basic written and verbal communication skills and computer skills including Minimum Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint.
